Bringing Back the Blazer

Blazers come in and out of style. Ever since Spring 2009 collections, blazers have become a key piece for every look. But the blazer wasn't just an exclusive season trend, no, the blazer was here to stay. Fall 2009 slowly kept on introducing the blazer, but it wasn't until Spring 2010 collections that we couldn't see a show  that didn't feature blazers in their styling in some way.
It's really interesting to see how each designer adapted this trend (like many others of course) to their own aesthetic and made of this very simple piece totally unique. So here are lots of formal and informal examples from past seasons, of runway looks featuring blazers, so we can see the evolution of the blazer...

Amazing post Augusta! I LOVE blazers, and agreed I much prefer them to cardigans. The only issue is dry cleaning - what a nuisance!
I only have a black blazer but I would love to find a light coloured one (cream? pink?) for summer. I just bought a pair of peg-legged beige pleated pants and I would love to find a blazer in a similar hue to go with that. (Like the photo of Freja above ;))
The floral blazer is amazing too, but you'd probably get sick of that a lot more quickly than the solid ones.
GREAT POST, have I ever mentioned your blog is amazing:) Keep it up!
