Fashion's Night Out - The Trends

Kicking off New York Fashion Week, was Anna Wintour's biggest fashion show in history: Fashion's Night Out: The Show. 150 models showed some of the biggest trends for fall, and wearing runway looks of designers like Prada, Chanel and John Galliano. The purpose of teh show was to encourage consumers to shop with the stars this Friday, Sept 10th for the second annual Fashion's Night Out festivities.
Here are some of the best looks from the show, separated by trends (sorry for teh bad photoshoping!):

FIFTIES FLAIR

From TV shows like Mad Men, to movies like A Single Man, the fifties are making a comeback. Designers loved this style for fall. Prada, Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci and Dolce & Gabbana all were inspired by that decade. High-waist, long skirts, cardigans, for fall is all about being sensual by showing less. Leave it all to the imagination, says this trend.

TARTAN TWIST
Tartan is envogue again! Dries Van Noten, Chanel and Dior all made of the tartan a trend for fall. And this time is everywhere! From pants to dresses, even in little details, the scottish pattern is a must for fall.

PURE AT HEART
Someone once said less is more. This minimalistic style has inspired Phoebe Philo, Hannah McGibbon and Francisco Costa for their fall collections. A plaid palette and simple silhouttes all help to make this trend one of the most sophisticated of the season. Take the example of looks from Miu Miu, Balenciaga and ChloƩ.

WEEKEND WRAP-UP
A laid-back style is always great for weekend. Capes and jackets are the main attraction of this trend, all provided by Pringle Of Sctoland, Rag & Bone and Burberry Prorsum's designs, among others. Chic but edgy would sumarize this trend, be laid-back but always stylish.

ROCK CHIC
Another huge hit on the runways for fall was the mix of edgy, rock-roll looks with sophisticated details. This defines Balmain and Isabel Marant, whose looks appeared on this section of the show. Leather, leggings, and heavy make-up define this trends.

GO GLOBAL
For many this is the biggest trend for fall. Colorful prints and statement jewelry appeared on John Galliano and Roberto Cavalli's fall collections. This trend takes you on an international journey, in which culture meets fashion. Remember to stick to a neutral heel or sandal to balance out the playful prints.

JAZZ-AGE COOL
Velvet gowns and heavily made up features gave glamour to Oscar de la Renta and Badgkley Mischka's collections. Just like the fifties are back, so are the twenties. By night stick to long and loose dresses, which can't do no wrong to the body. Fur and fine jewellery are also part of this glaorous trend.
